The Virtual and Realistic Journey of Digital Human: An Assemblage of Urban Communication

Artificial intelligence technology provides conditions for the development, improvement, and promotion of digital humans. As a hot spot in current social media, digital humans have formed a continuously changing but relatively stable urban assemblage with elements such as urban image architecture, urban cultural communication, and urban image in social platforms. From the assemblage perspective, this paper analyzes the content of virtual people and urban culture communication in social media though assemblage ethnography. These materials show that in the social environment of rapid development and change of new technology, active use of new technology and new media platforms is conducive to the dissemination and development of traditional culture, while increasing the attraction to young audiences and building a dynamic urban imagination. It also emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the interaction between humans and non-humans and breaking the boundary between virtual and reality in the ever-changing social environment.

Research on the Advantages of Short Video and the Way to Revive Long Video

Short video is one of the fastest growing industries at present, and the spread of short video on social media is very large. Long videos not only provide more selectivity, but also change the way humans watch videos. However, in the face of massive content competition, it becomes more difficult to attract viewers, leading to more people choosing to watch short videos. This paper explores the advantages of short video in modern communication, and proposes the revival of long video. Short videos are popular for their concise and clear features, which grab viewers' attention in a fast-paced society. They are easily shared and disseminated across various platforms, expanding the reach of information. Moreover, short videos provide a rich audio-visual experience, making communication more lively and interesting. On the other hand, long videos face challenges such as the dominance of short video platforms, rising membership fees, and copyright restrictions. To revive long videos, platforms can open up copyrights, reduce fees, and improve member benefits. Creators should focus on producing premium content with appealing themes, while the government can promote the import of foreign films to enrich viewing options. Viewers can use their free time to watch long-form videos in theaters or on TV. By addressing these challenges and promoting quality content, long-form videos can thrive alongside short-form videos in the modern media landscape.

Three Quadrant Being: A New Analysis on Human Condition

The question of human existence and the meaning of life has been a topic of debate for generations. This paper presents the "Three Quadrant Model" as a new approach to understanding the human condition: the temporal, the absurd, and the meaningful states of being. These reflect three phases where humans may live within societal structures, recognize the inherent absurdity of existence, and create their own sense of meaning, respectively. While examining some investigated existential literature and historical philosophical perspectives, the research asserts that humans jump back and forth among these states rather than progressing linearly, as stated by Nietzsche’s three metamorphoses. The three states are characterized by equality, ambiguity, universality, and subjectivity. Ultimately, the model suggests that the quest for life's meaning is subjective, and that no single state is inherently superior to others. The study calls for further exploration into the logical foundations and practical applications of this model.

Study of the Development of American Feminism (1790-1990): Three Waves and Interaction with Racial Equality Movement

Since the birth of feminism, it has been committed to pushing for transforming the inequality state between males and females. American feminism achieved incredible achievements within the last three centuries, not only legislatively, but also ideologically. Meanwhile, the feminism of America and another one of the most essential social group that struggled for their own rights of egalitarianism -- African Americans--have been influenced by one another, making progresses in separate or communal interests. This paper will use literature and case analysis to focus on three waves of the development of American feminism and some important interactions between feminism and the racial equality movement, which aims to find out the differences and evolving factors in three stages of American feminism development and analyze whether positive or negative impacts weigh more when racial equality movement interacted with feminism movement. The result of the research is that the first wave of American feminism was liberal feminism with a significant symbol of gaining female suffrage; the second wave of American feminism was more radical and far more concerned with issues of class and race; the third wave of America feminism was less characterized by a specific political agenda and more of a culture revolution. Furthermore, it could be beneficial for both of them when American Feminism cooperates properly with the racial equality movement.

The Impact of Online Media Development, and Information Dissemination on LGBTQ Marginalised People

The purpose of this topic is to study the positive and negative impacts of the internet and media on LGBTQ people. This is because, with China's rapid development, the speed and breadth of information dissemination in social platforms and media is increasing. More and more sexual minority young people are participating in discussions on social media, sharing their lives, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and expressing their views and opinions. However, the fact that the phenomenon of verbal violence continues to affect the LGBTQ community while providing vulnerable groups with access to information, knowledge, resources and empowerment cannot be ignored. This study conducted interviews with a random sample of LGBTQ people in different regions of China in order to analyse the positive and negative messages about LGBTQ people on the internet from a more humane perspective. The results of the interviews also illustrate the harm caused by verbal harassment and violence to the LGBTQ community. Some LGBTQ people, when faced with such unequal treatment, will rise and fight back, expressing their dissatisfaction and fighting for their rights through self-empowerment in the form of words or behaviours. The dominant mindset is to avoid such harm and discuss and entertain it in their social communities.

The Impact of Social Integration Factors on the Residency Intention of Young College Students

This study utilizes data from the 2017 National Dynamic Monitoring Survey of Floating Population to select young college students and establish a binary logistic regression model to explore the impact of social integration factors on the residency intention of young college students. Furthermore, an exploratory analysis is conducted on young college students in the intention stage. The study shows that 58.82% of young college students have a long-term residency intention. The higher the level of economic integration, institutional matching, cultural integration, social participation, and psychological identification, the greater the likelihood of their willingness to reside long-term. The key factor influencing the residency choice of young college students in the intention stage is the family’s monthly income. In order to retain young college students with higher human capital and lay the foundation for high-quality and sustainable urban development, relevant policies should be implemented to increase their income, enhance job stability, and provide them with humanistic care and opportunities for social participation.

Promoting Gender Equity in the Workspace: An Analysis of Gender Disparity, Societal Support and Systematic Solutions

Gender equity is a long-standing global goal within the workplace, yet disparity persists, particularly in terms of pay gap. This research aims to comprehensively analyze gender disparities in the US workplace. Despite the progress in granting women rights in other areas, such as voting rights, a significant wage gap still shows the ongoing gender disparity in the workplace. Through literature review, data collection and analysis on the current circumstances of wage gap in the US workplace, we identified several significant factors that could lead to further disparity, explored potential role of social discrimination behind these observations, and ultimately outlined a more systematic approach to addressing the prevailing gender inequality. By implementing these solutions, the gender disparity within the workplace can be substantially reduced.

Urban Network Hotspot Consumption Space Evolution Mechanism and Crowd Differentiation Analysis: A Case Study of Lushan South Road in Changsha City

With the prosperity of the tourism industry, foreign tourists and local university students have become the main users of the university town space. The two groups have a high degree of behavioral overlap but differ in motivation due to different psychological needs. Research on urban network hotspot space needs more exploration of small-scale road sections and coverage of spatial boundary perception, social media, and other factors in space formation and evolution mechanisms. Therefore, this study will take the consumption space with the strongest interweaving of the two groups as the starting point to explore the countermeasures for spatial boundary perception with the theoretical support of scene theory. It was found that various factors such as social media, tourist experience-oriented consumption psychology, and the perception of spatial boundaries by both tourists and students influenced the drastic change in urban hotspot consumption space. This study provides some reference for understanding and guiding the development of such areas.

The Causes, Manifestations, and Effects of Benevolent Sexism and How It Contributes to the Perpetuation of Gender Discrimination

Benevolent sexism is a subtle form of gender discrimination that manifests itself in seemingly friendly attitudes and behaviors towards women. This research synthesizes existing literature, incorporating research and analysis from multiple subjects including psychology, sociology, and gender studies to explore various forms of benevolent sexism, dissect the underlying ideologies that support its existence, and investigate its impact on women in society. In addition, this paper includes case studies of real-life situations to illustrate the practical implications of benevolent sexism. According to analysis, it can be concluded that benevolent sexism manifests itself in various ways, such as an expression of kindness and appreciation, traditional gender roles and stereotypes, denial of women’s capabilities due to deep-rooted prejudices, and paternalistic and chivalrous behavior. From the perspectives of historical foundation, a lack of awareness, and social environment, benevolent sexism exists and contributes to the perpetuation of gender discrimination by reinforcing the stereotype about women, hindering women's advancement in professional and academic fields, gradually normalizing gender inequality within societies and communities, and lacking recognition of women's achievements, contributions, and abilities.

A Study on the Main Characteristics of English Internet Terms and Chinese Translation Strategies

Nowadays, globalization and informatization are deepening through social media, and the way people communicate with each other has also changed dramatically. Thus, many Internet expressions were born. The study of network language plays an important role in communicating with the world, recognizing the diversity of the world and language learning. In daily life, people often use it directly, but if more words are not translated and understood, their scope of use will have great limitations. There are three topics discussed in this paper: the main characteristics of Internet slang and phrases and abbreviations of modern society, the corresponding spoken phenomenon, and Chinese Translation Strategies for Internet Terms. It involves analysis of word meanings, vocabulary statistics, collection and classification and synchronic research using main social media Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. It could be seen that no matter whether people think internet slang vitalizes or destroys language, there's no denying how revealing it is of the culture that invents and uses it -- and the ease with which people adapt their language to new technologies and concepts.

Narrative Worldmaking of Temporal and Spatial Intersections: "Here" and "Elsewhere" in Life Is Elsewhere

Milan Kundera’s novel, Life Is Elsewhere, narrates the entire life of the protagonist from pre-birth to death. The author constructs a realistic world of “here” in contrast to a dreamlike world of “elsewhere” in the novel, setting up two homologous narrative worlds that finally drift into an irreconcilable separation and opposition. Cognitive narratology’s focus on narrative worldmaking provides the readers with a pathway to analyze the dual narrative worlds in the text, creating double-scope stories represented by the personae of Jaromil and Xavier. The discrepancy between the two worlds runs throughout the narrative, and the relationship between the two independent yet mirroring worlds is evident from the beginning of their worldmaking. The implied distinction between “here” and “elsewhere” in “Life Is Elsewhere” is a metaphor for the unity of opposites in these two story worlds. The storyteller guides the interpreter’s reading activity through narration.

A Study on the Impact of Douyin on the Adolescent's Self-Shaping

Since the arrival of the big data era, adolescents’ life has been occupied by a variety of online short video applications, causing a great impact on the development of the adolescent’s self-awareness and the formation of their own values. Among all the online short video applications, Douyin, with the widest coverage nowadays, has had a particularly obvious impact on the adolescent’s self-development. This paper comprehensively analyzes and considers the influence of Douyin on adolescents' self-development and concludes that the short video content on Douyin is easy to cause the adolescent’s emulation and has an impact on the formation of the adolescent’s values. This is reflected in the positive and negative impacts of Douyin on the adolescent’s self-awareness, self-expression, and self-development. On the one hand, while watching Douyin short videos, teenagers can increase their knowledge and understanding of the many choices they may have in the future and make more suitable plans for their future development. On the other hand, the content of Douyin short videos makes teenagers feel "peer pressure" and change the way they describe and position themselves. Erroneous values may have irreversible negative impacts on teenagers' future development.

The Influence of Prince Yi Yunxiang on the Court Art of the Yongzheng Reign

During the Yongzheng reign, the court arts, including painting, porcelain, enamelware, snuff bottles, furniture, etc., reached a remarkably high level. This was not only attributed to the personal artistic cultivation and aesthetic preferences of Emperor Yongzheng but also, crucially, to the direct management of the Office of Palace Affairs by Prince Yi Yunxiang. Yunxiang shared an inseparable bond with Emperor Yongzheng since childhood, and he was well aware of the emperor's preferences. Yunxiang himself possessed excellent taste, enabling him to better implement Emperor Yongzheng's aesthetic preferences and establish the "Internal Court Respectful Production" style. Furthermore, Yunxiang led the utilization of Western missionaries, infusing fresh vitality into Qing court art and creating a distinctive aesthetic trend in the Yongzheng era.

These female bloggers, who should symbolize independent women, are often conflicted and contradictory. This article aims to explore the causes of the psychological conflict of these highly educated female bloggers and to investigate the degree of attention and influence of female college students on them in contemporary society, in order to provide strategies for the development of feminism in new media era China. The study conducted a survey of female college students, focusing mainly on their degree of attention to gender issues and various female bloggers, their susceptibility to influence, and their gender concepts and perceptions of feminism. The study found that 52% of female college students follow both emotional bloggers and feminist bloggers. They learn about feminism while seeking advice from emotional bloggers, which also shows a sense of contradiction. Re-employment of the Young-Old People in China: Reflection on the Legal Protection

In the context of population ageing, young-old people aged 60-69 are considered the main force in the re-employment strategy in China. However, dilemmas exist in the reality. After a summary of previous researches, it is clear that young-old people have less job opportunities and get less salary compared with their younger competitors. Moreover, there is no work-related safeguard for these workers. To further explore the issue, this article focuses on the current legal system and theories in the academic field as to the recognition of labor relationship and prohibition of age discrimination. It turns out that, retirement as an obligation has blocked recognizing labor relations in a natural and reasonable manner by disregarding the parties' autonomy and the natural characteristics of labor relationship; On the issue of age discrimination, the meaning and role of age discrimination in the current legal system are still not clear. Combined with experience learned from Japan, suggestions can be further given: Retirement should no longer be ruled as an obligation as it is not in line with the reality; On this basis, the recognition of labor relationship should be reset with a purpose of respecting parties' autonomy and following natural characteristics of labour relations; All the young-old workers should be equipped with work-related injury insurance as inclined protection of elderly people. Furthermore, the importance of regulations on age discrimination in line with other measures is usually underestimated. In order to achieve substantive equality in the workplace, the author holds that the judgement standard of age discrimination should be clarified as soon as possible and an age discrimination review system and a punishment mechanism should be established.
