A Study on People’s Daily Weibo and Comments --Taking Hu Xinyu’s Case as an Example

The matter has continued to develop for 106 days since the revelation of the suicide of teenager Hu Xinyu. The incident was pushed to the climax after the official release of factual evidence. This is because people still have doubts and questions about the attitude toward the information released by the officials. As a result, the issue of the government’s crisis of confidence has erupted again. Taking People’s Daily as the research object, this article will use the case study method, content analysis method, and data collection method to introduce the development process of the Hu Xinyu case as the starting point to analyze the culmination of the development of Hu Xinyu case event, as well as the Weibo comment data of People’s Daily’s official Weibo account about the event, the reasons that caused the bifurcation of Hu Xinyu case comment, regional influence, and whether to trust the government. This paper summarizes that the release of official information in China should grasp the three main points of fast, accurate, and hard, while the dissemination of information needs to cross-regional differences and make full use of the network resource platform to strengthen communication, regulate the network environment and create a good atmosphere for public opinion. For the release of information on hot events, it should focus on the audience and take the audience’s needs as the starting point, thus realizing the transformation of the audience from observers to participants.

Discourse and Action: Female Players’ Resistance Against Gender Inequality in Games Through Social Media

In patriarchal gaming culture, female gamers have limited space for discourse. The establishment of the “Female Gamers’ Association” provides a new channel for female gamers to resist male hegemony in both games and reality through game sharing and discourse criticism. Therefore, this paper tries to explore how female gamers confront male discourses and build their identities through a series of discursive practices around games and gender on social media. This paper analyzes the posts from the “Female Gamers’ Association” group on the social media platform Douban and uses online ethnography for further observation. The study finds that although female gamers have formed a new discursive space and resisted the mainstream gaming environment by creating their own communities, there are still limitations to this resistance, and the active resistance of female gamers also contains elements of passive submission. The study of the “Female Gamers’ Association” provides a clearer understanding of the complexities of female gamers in a male-dominated virtual space and their agency in the face of pressure.

A Study of Female Body Shaming in the Fashion and Clothing Industry -Take Brandy Melville as an Example

Since ancient times, each era has had its own unique standard of beauty. The standards of beauty in modern society are very different from those in ancient times. In modern society, thin is beautiful, and women wear clothes to highlight their figures. This may not be a personal standard of beauty, but it has spread throughout society and is respected by many people. BM is an Italian clothing brand that goes by the full name Brandy Melville and is known for having only one size. BM style is a clothing style based on the clothes produced by this brand, which rose in the 1980s. Taking the BM style as an example, this paper will explore the origin, characteristics, popular reasons, and existing disputes of the BM style to demonstrate the aesthetic standards of today’s society. This kind of aesthetic standard first produces certain negative effects on the body. Women who don’t fit this criterion will get there in unhealthy ways. Secondly, it also has an impact on women’s psychology. If woman does not meet this standard, they will be discriminated against by the society, by man, even by other woman who fits that standard. These negative effects show how ridiculous this aesthetic is.

An Analysis of Christian Criticism from Nietzsche’s Perspective

This article attempts to use Nietzsche’s perspective to elaborate on his criticism of the original sin and heaven concepts in Christianity. Here, the author will first elaborate on Nietzsche’s important tool for criticizing Christianity, which is the will to power. In Nietzsche’s works, the will to power is described as an irrational, natural, and inherent desire for expansion in all things in the world. It is a combination of Schopenhauer’s will to survive and the spirit of Bacchus. Next, the author will first clarify the essence of Christianity from Nietzsche’s perspective, and then divide the criticism into original sin criticism and heaven criticism, both of which ultimately lead to the weakening of one’s own spirit. The author will provide a partial explanation of how Christianity induces people to fall into weakness step by step, which will be divided into two parts: ticket theory and choice theory.

The Current Situation and Measures of Enning Road Old City Renovation in Guangzhou City

Historic and cultural districts reflect the cultural memory of a specific historical period, but they are also the physical space where real people live and move around, and therefore their conservation is an important part of urban development. This study takes the old district renovation project of Enning Road in Guangzhou as an example, describes the current situation after the renovation, discusses the problems, refers to successful cases of renovation at home and abroad, and proposes renovation measures from the perspective of visitors’ sense of experience. From the end of the 19th century to the present day, a series of renovation policies have revitalised Enning Road, and the transformation has gradually changed from large-scale demolition and construction to micro-renewal of the city. The development of Enning Road, as a commercial centre with a local historical character, has revealed a lack of renovation for the experience of tourists in terms of travel and safety, as the number of tourists attracted has increased year by year. This paper proposes zoning and beautification of shop decoration, enhanced traffic safety planning in the scenic area and the development of special tourist routes under the conditions of tourist demand.

Analysis of the Embodiment of Mysticism in Artworks

The advancement of science and technology affects how people interact culturally. More and more works of art today have mysticism as their central theme. Mysticism has not disappeared from the public’s consciousness despite the fact that there are more and more materialists today. Religious activities grew more common as the Middle Ages emerged in the West, playing a significant role in history. The belief and culture of the East are also influenced by Eastern Buddhism, Islam, and other religions. Given that mysticism is the founding culture of humanity, several histories describe the development of religion, human civilization, and the majority of historical texts pertaining to mysticism. Through the analysis of both ancient and contemporary mystic art as well as historical documents, the author will examine the impact of mysticism on human art. Based on such information, this research has revealed that numerous ideologies and creative expressions from the mysticism of the past have impacted a lot of modern art. Both the surrealist works of the Remedies Varo and the spiritual abstract paintings of Hilma of Klint demonstrate the upper reaches of human civilisation. And many contemporary artists are drawn to the mysticism that has impacted contemporary literary works.

Integration of Chinese and Western Art in Late Ming Dynasty: Imitation and Innovation with Wu Bin as an Example

The late Ming Dynasty witnessed an art exchange between two distinct civilizations, the East and the West, which served as a microcosm of globalized art history in China. In the context of numerous Western religious paintings introduced to China by Jesuit missionaries during the late Ming Dynasty, whether Chinese artists who painted in ink at the time borrowed Western painting techniques in their paintings has become a subject of discussion among contemporary scholars. To further explain the integration triggered by this artistic exchange, the research analyses the attitudes of Ming society towards foreign painting. Furthermore, the study conducts the visual comparison methodology to identify the elements of Western painting that were incorporated into Chinese painting during this period, centering on the works of artist Wu Bin (1550-1643) and employing specific information as corroborative substantiation. The results of the study indicate that late Ming society did not exhibit overt animosity towards Western art and that Wu Bin’s paintings contain discernible Western painting inspirations. Yet, these factors did not impede the prevalence of indigenous artistic and aesthetic inclinations in his oeuvre.

A Regulation Theory Perspective on the Relationship Between Playbour and Internet Social Media Platforms

Playbour, as a new type of digital labor, is commonly exploited and involves everyone using the Internet social platforms. The present study will mainly analyze how playbour is regulated by Platform capitalists based on Michel Foucault’s “Theory of Regulation”, and the regulation process will be presented in the early, middle, and mature stages of platform development. In the early stage, the platform is immature. In order to attract users, the platform will give them a high degree of sovereignty. In the middle stage, Platform capitalists gradually reclaim their sovereignty and the user becomes less autonomous, thus becoming a playbour. In the later stage, the playbour becomes an object of the platform and loses its sovereignty completely in the Cyberspace after being disciplined by the platform. Platform capitalists The purpose of disciplining the playbour is to increase the viscosity of users to the platform and to produce a constant stream of new cultural products for its profit. Through this analysis, this paper argues that such regulation not only exacerbates playbour’s exploitation, but also leads users towards commodity worship and deification of the Internet social media platform. The ideological and linguistic culture of the labor community will be hit hard by such an impact. This paper attempts to argue the seriousness of the problem through analysis.

Indian Education from the Movie “Starting Line” and “3 Idiots”

With social and economic development, people are no longer just satisfied with food and clothing, and very many parents are focusing on the education of their offspring. This education boom has even led to numerous family anxieties. This paper analyzes the educational issues in two Indian films ‘Starting Line’ and ‘3 Idiots’, including the main causes of educational anxiety from these two films and the underlying problem of educational injustice. The author believes that the educational anxiety in ‘Starting Line’ is essentially the anxiety of the protagonist’s family as a middle-class family about their children’s future and the anxiety brought about by the social education involution atmosphere, while the anxiety in ‘3 Idiots’ mainly comes from family responsibilities the main character holds and the need to make a living, while both films reflect that the solidification of class monopoly is the root cause of educational injustice.

The Impact of Marital Status and Fertility Status on Female Employment in China

Since the founding of the country, China’s system of guaranteeing women’s employment has become increasingly sophisticated. However, from the application of China’s comprehensive two-child policy to the opening of the three-child policy to the current abolition of marriage restrictions on birth registration in some regions, marriage and childbirth have become increasingly important issues for women seeking employment. At the same time, the data survey shows that, in reality, women still receive discrimination and unequal treatment in employment due to marriage and childbirth. As women of childbearing age are responsible for both population reproduction and social reproduction, attention should be paid to how marriage and motherhood affect women’s employment. By analyzing various factors in women’s employment, such as enterprises, government, family members, and social opinion, this study focuses on the possible effects, such as experiencing workplace discrimination more frequently in marriage and childbirth, on women and proposes corresponding solutions. In conclusion, the focus of creating a female-friendly employment environment is not on “protection”, but on building a good and sound social welfare system that takes into account the clear demands of women’s development.

The Difference in the Degree of Harm Suffered by Extroverts and Introverts When They Receive Negative Comments on Social Media

Today’s teenagers, as the new generation most susceptible to the influence of the internet, use their phones very frequently, and participating in the online world has become the main theme of their lives. Online platforms have become the trigger for adolescent psychological disorders. Secondly, teenagers may experience feelings of jealousy, comparison, and inferiority when using these media. However, research has also found that teenagers who love sports and life are less likely to suffer from digital depression, and they can face this series of negative emotions with an optimistic and positive attitude. Therefore, the author would like to know if there is a difference in the degree of harm suffered by extroverts and introverts when receiving negative reviews on social media, and its magnitude. Hoping that through this study, teenagers can learn how to alleviate negative emotions caused by the internet and reduce the risk of depression. The method used will be an experiment, and the author will imitate the method in the article Why Do Adolescents Receive Negative Feedback And Who Is Most At Risk?: using the modified NEO-FFI to focus on the basic features, language features, and interactive features of users’ published content, and infer whether their personality is extraversion or neuroobjectism in Big Five. The expected experimental result is that people with higher scores for extroversion generally have fewer negative emotions than those with higher scores for introversion, and the degree of difference between them will intensify over time.

Cross-century, Together with the Lion’s Journey: A Case Study of Lion Dance Practice in Wuzhou, Tengxian Secondary School

As a traditional Chinese folk art that often appears during important festivals or commercial activities, the cultural value and influence of the “lion dance” is very far-reaching. In the past 20 years, with the rapid development of society, the protection and inheritance of traditional Chinese culture have become a top priority on the road to preserving historical memory, and the lion dance culture popular in southern China and Southeast Asia, like many other traditional Chinese cultures, is facing the challenge of how to continue passing on. By reviewing the materials, this study learned that there is a lion dance cultural hall in Wuzhou, Guangxi, which has a history of nearly 200 years - Bilin Tang, which has received the support of the Wuzhou Municipal Government to deliberately establish the first professional lion dance major in the Tengxian Secondary School. Out of a desire to gain a clearer understanding of the current status of the preservation and inheritance of this traditional Chinese culture, the author finally contacted Mr. Zhong Dao Ren, the current director of Bilin Tang, and with his support, the author went to Tengxian Secondary School to interview in person. The author communicated with Mr. Deng and the students of the lion dance troupe and obtained a lot of valuable information and materials. Meanwhile, the author conducted more in-depth research under the guidance of Professor Bradd Shore at Emory University, resulting in this paper. The inheritance of the lion dance culture encounters not only the problems of funding, government support, and motivation for an inheritance but also the problem of how to make the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and the development of the trend of the times mutually integrate into the current social context. To avoid the extinction of traditional Chinese folk art like the Southern Lion culture, it is necessary to attract more attention and resonate the interest of young people in such culture. Only the organic integration of traditional culture with modern elements can be an effective means for the long-term survival of traditional Chinese culture.

The Formalism Issue of Catholic Iconography in China

During the Republican period in China, the Catholic Church gradually developed and grew in China and made attempts to localize itself in different fields, one of which was the promotion of localized Catholic icon painting in the field of art. Due to the problem of divergence between Chinese and Western cultures and styles, formalistic expressions of these paintings emerged. As a representative practice of Catholic painting in China, Beiping Fu Jen Catholic University, with Chinese painting style as its main focus and Western style as its auxiliary, consciously innovated the expression of Catholic icon painting in China, however, in the expression of content and selection of subject matter, excessive emphasis was placed on Chinese visual language to cater to the tastes of Chinese audiences, and as the edifying function of Catholic painting failed to be exercised to a certain extent. There is still a certain degree of formalism. The development of Catholic painting in China needs to find a balance between the spirit of doctrine and Chinese visual culture, integrate Catholic aesthetics into the Chinese painting tradition, and create a new form of painting language, rather than the migration and appropriation of visual symbols.
