How Reddit Sentiments Influenced Gamestop Stocks

This paper focuses on the language usage in the GameStop (GME) share rally in January 2021. Specifically, I analyze how comments in a leading post of Reddit’s r/wallstreetbets subreddit reflect the reddit user community’s sentiment and emotion with various linguistic expressions. I analyzed the topics of the comments using topic modeling with Latent Dirichlet allocation algorithm, which objectively identified representative topics in the comments. Results showed that there were six clusters of topics, including two of the topic clusters that represented words that were highly correlated with stock market behaviors, such as “buy” and “sell”, one cluster that suggested objective analyses of the stock market, and one cluster that presented complaining emotions. The findings indicate a direct correlation and impact between the sentiments of comments and the performance of the stock market.

Analysis of Misleading and Authenticity of News Headlines

The era of information has brought about a new "reading era" for news communication. Regardless of the type of news report, it is crucial to ensure the truthfulness of the news. The authenticity of news is the foundation for its existence and development. However, due to the entertainment-oriented nature of online media, some companies that profit from internet traffic take advantage of the general phenomenon of most users' lack of attention and irrationality on the internet platform. This phenomenon has been observed for many years and has repeatedly misled the masses, affecting their daily lives. This article analyzes the current problem using a questionnaire consisting of 14 questions. Nine of these questions are AI-generated fake news, while the remaining five are based on news headlines that caused panic in the past two years. This article focuses on the impact of inappropriate news headlines on people's confusion and daily lives. The results indicate that news about daily life significantly impacts people, regardless of their age or reading range.

More and more fans at a younger age express their love for idols in their own way, but because the teenagers' own cognitive and psychological construction is not complete, they will make some crazy actions, such as: In order to help the idol to be able to spend money on the list, in order to maintain their own idol wanton "attack" others ignore laws and regulations, spend savings to buy idols around, and even make some extreme behaviors in order to close contact with idols: tracking, candid photos, installation of locators, etc. These crazy star-chasing behaviors not only seriously endanger the social public order but also have a negative impact on the growth of teenagers and the development of stars. In this paper, the phenomenon of star-chasing in the current group of teenagers is taken as the starting point, and through the method of questionnaire survey, based on the experience and views of star-chasing in different groups of teenagers. This paper aims to study the views and psychological cognition of the teenagers with star-chasing experience between 12 and 18 years old. The Presentation and Influence of Power Dynamics in Jane Austen’s Emma

Nowadays, literary criticism tries to evaluate the literary work by fitting it into a certain established theory. Instead, this essay focuses on the original “dialogues” in Jane Austen’s novel Emma to give a pragmatic testimonial of how revolutionary Jane Austen is in showing the shifting power dynamics between Emma and her friend Harriet Smith through seemingly easy-spoken exchange. By paying attention to three specific passages in the novel, this essay analyses the author’s use of words, tone and punctuation in conversations between the pair of friends. The analysis enables the assessment of their characteristics at different stages of the novel and their consequent change in positions in terms of power dynamics. From Harriet’s initial unsteadiness and Emma’s dominance to obtaining relevant balance, this essay reveals Austen’s construction of power dynamics between characters as variables that maintain conservation. The consequential function of such design is that the establishment of power dynamics helps to distribute authority and exert influences on the characters’ behaviour, thereby presenting the plot development and solid personal growth of characters.

‘Paradise Lost’ of Language Decoding Li Guo-Hua's Linguistic Manipulation in Fang Si-Chi’s First Love Paradise with the Foucauldian Discourse

This study investigates the power dynamics in Fang Si-Chi's First Love Paradise, a work by the late Taiwanese author Lin Yi-Han, using the Foucauldian Discourse Analysis method. Specifically, it focuses on the linguistic interactions between the main characters to uncover the power structures at play. The analysis reveals that Li Guo-Hua's manipulation of language, within the context of classic Chinese literature, plays a pivotal role in establishing and perpetuating his power. Throughout the narrative, Li Guo-Hua subjects Fang Si-Chi to prolonged sexual and psychological abuse, thereby creating a power dynamic characteristic of Foucauldian discourse. He positions himself as her teacher, exerting control through the distortion of truthful knowledge, linguistic manipulation, and the denial of Fang's agency. This research sheds light on how power can be intricately woven into language and discourse, enabling the exploitation of individuals within intimate relationships. The findings underscore the importance of critically examining linguistic power dynamics in literary works, as they reflect broader societal constructs and behaviors.

The Disillusionment of the American Dream in "The Great Gatsby"

    F. Scott Fitzgerald is regarded as the spokesman of the American "Jazz Age." "Jazz Age" denotes the temporal span, including 1919 to 1929. The economy flourished during this particular period in American history, leading to a significant shift in societal ideals. Consequently, a discernible decline emerged in individuals' cognitive and ethical faculties. The Great Gatsby, a literary work that portrays the terrible existence of Gatsby and carries notable scholarly and pragmatic ramifications, symbolizes the disintegration of the "American Dream." The cohort of individuals in the United States, commonly called the "lost generation" during the 1920s, saw a notable discrepancy between their aspirational objectives and the prevailing realities of their day. This study examines the fundamental significance of Gatsby's interpretation of the "American Dream" and uncovers the inescapable inevitability of Gatsby's sad demise and the disillusionment associated with the "American Dream" through a thorough analysis of the primary textual elements inside the novel. The primary aim of this essay is to enhance readers' understanding of the widespread appeal of riches and worldly possessions while encouraging them to reflect on the development of moral, healthful, and dynamic principles.

Digital Marketing in the New Era: Exploring the Affordances of Chatbots in Consumer Engagement and Brand Connection

This article explores the evolving landscape of marketing and personalized communication in the digital era, with a particular focus on the affordances of chatbots as pivotal tools for businesses. As consumers increasingly turn to online platforms for information and purchasing decisions, chatbots have emerged as indispensable tools for enhancing customer engagement and delivering personalized experiences. While previous research has outlined the potential benefits and drawbacks of chatbots in marketing, a critical gap exists in understanding their context-specific impact on user perceptions and behaviors. To bridge this gap, this study adopts the affordance theory to investigate how chatbots offer unique affordances to users across various shopping scenarios. Through in-depth interviews with 10 participants spanning different fields and shopping contexts, this research delves into the intricate interplay between chatbots and users. The findings reveal that chatbots indeed provide interactive intelligence, improve user experiences through flexibility in time and place, and contribute to personalized interactions. Yet, specific technological attributes of chatbots, such as their capacity for emotional support and gender portrayals, can be both advantageous and limiting, contingent on the distinct needs of customers. This research underscores the importance of considering the nuanced context-specific interactions between chatbots and users, thus paving the way for a more comprehensive understanding of their multifaceted role in shaping consumer-company identification.

As a carrier of communication and socialization, social media is developing rapidly, and while adolescents enjoy the convenience brought by social media, the use of social media has also brought about certain impacts on the physical and mental development of adolescents. Social networking sites can promote the formation of online friendships among adolescents, but they can also lead to loneliness and depression and may cause adolescents to form online dependence. An overly open information environment can lead to social comparisons and dissatisfaction with adolescents' images of their bodies. Free speech can also lead to cyberbullying, which can have a negative impact on adolescents' sense of self and emotional experience. With the positive as well as negative impacts that social media can have on adolescents, society should pay more attention to how to mitigate the negative impacts of social media and how to go about controlling adolescents' addiction to social media.
